Maintaining your human hair extensions is crucial to keep them looking their best and lasting longer. Here are some tips to help you take care of your extensions: Brush your extensions daily to remove tangles and knots. Use a soft-bristled / detangling brush and start from the bottom, working your way up to the top. Wash your extensions every 2-3 weeks using a mild shampoo and conditioner. Avoid using products that contain sulfates or alcohol, as they can strip the hair of its natural oils and cause dryness. Avoid excessively using heat styling tools on your extensions, as excessive heat can damage the hair. If you must use heat, make sure to use a heat protectant spray and keep the heat at around 400 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. Avoid sleeping with your hair in a messy ponytail or bun especially while wet/damp , as this can cause tangles and knots. Instead, twist or wrap your hair under a satin head covering. You can also use a satin pillowcase to help prevent damage. Be gentle with your extensions and avoid excessive tension, pulling or tugging on them. This can cause shedding and damage to the hair.
